Hello everybody, I am Ron Gettler and I am anxious to participate in this amazing mission. As a Retired Marine Master Sergeant, and board member of the Tribute to the Troops - Florida Chapter, honoring our heroes who sacrificed everything for our great nation is near and dear to my heart.

I am an avid motorcycle rider and member of the Iron Butt Association. I currently own two HD Road Glides, with my 2022 HD RoadGlide Limited being my primary ride. We call her Rosie and she has 45K on the clock. What I love about her is the fat tire upgrade on the front. She handles like a dream. The 4-trumpet air horns I added helps cagers stay out of our way.

As a retiree I have plenty of time to ride. My main riding buddy is Big Mike, a retired Army Sergeant Major and former Marine that I served with at our last command at U.S. Central Command here in Tampa, Florida, where we remained.

“We” being my wife of 42 years, Julie, pictured in my profile picture. We have two sons, both successful in their careers, making us proud. Our youngest is a Chief Technical Officer for a neurological diagnostics company in Dallas, TX, and our older boy is a FireFighter/Paramedic with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department here in Florida. We have two beautiful grandbabies that we absolutely love and adore.

One unique thing to know about me is that following my 23 years in the Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant, I taught First Grade at our kid’s Elementary School. My wife, Julie, was our Classroom Mom, and the kids loved us. Especially those from the single-parent households, because at school, everyday, they had a surrogate Mom and Dad.

I look forward to meeting everybody at the 2026 Run For The Wall. A big “Thanks” to all those who make this mission happen.
