I am a 26 year Marine Vet, recently retired as of 2022. I knew it was time to get out when my son decided to join and there could only be enough room for one of us to stress the momma out!! My time in was spent in the infantry, mostly on the East coast and a good part of it on MEU’s (ship time). Three trips to Iraq, one to Afghanistan, one to Syria, a bit here and there around the horn of Africa, and a bit more scattered throughout the Baltic portions of Europe. I was blessed to be in the wrong places at the wrong time yet keep all my parts attached. I ride for those who didn’t and don’t get to say the same.
On that note, I ride a 2018 Street Glide special as well as a 2016 KTM 1290 when I want to get out in the wilderness. I’ve been through all the courses the Marine Corps required me to go through for Motorcycle Safety which opened the doors to other courses offered like Keith Code and my highlight, the motor officer course offered by NC motor officers. This set me up to be an instructor for an organization called BikeSafeNC which was intended to be a premier training venue for the Marines. Good intentions have hurdles, and that’s someone else’s battle now!
Anyway, longwinded babbling about nothing. Longer hair and beard now, trying to figure out what to do when I grow up. Trusting God has a plan in it for me and I’ll enjoy the ride in the mean time. Looking forward to meeting y’all.
