FNG here, getting back to riding after a series of strokes. Moved onto a 2015 Tri glide. Lots of questions as the FNG. Looking forward to any info out there that may be useful to help out a guy with a cane.
Welcome home, Stroker, and welcome to the Run family. You will not be the only person on the Run using a cane and you will be fine. If you need assistance at any time I know there will be others ready to help. Prepare yourself for the greatest experience of your life with the greatest group you’ll ever meet.
Stroker, JavaJoe here. Welcome to the Run! I’m the Midway Platoon Coordinator. As an FNG you will ride in a trike Platoon no matter what Route you elect.
A cane? WHAT CANE !!
Not an issue. Glad to have you aboard.
Thanks for having me, Looking forward to meeting up. The cane slows me down but doesn’t stop me.
Which route are you riding. I also am riding a 2015 triglide the central route.
Hey Stroker, Doc here. I’m another FNG on a Trike and looking forward to the fellowship of the ride. I’ll be riding the Midway with JavaJoe (I think). Let’s shake hands somewhere along the way!
I had a friend who walked with a cane. used one that folded up and kept in his saddle bag and it worked fine. Perhaps you got that much figured out already but thought I’d share just in case. The tri-glide is a great ride. Make sure those lug nuts actually got a torque check to spec before you leave and if you got new tires put on, they are supposed to get checked again between 500-1000 miles. just random info from a bored guy on a computer! Looks like there is plenty of tri-riders joining in with ya! Semper Fi
Hey, Stroker. Thanks for posting. I had the same question for the same reason. I’ll be riding a police package Spyder. Hope to see you somewhere along the way. I live between the C and M routes. Will be joining along the way but haven’t decided which route, yet. Be safe!
Doc, Martha Reynolds will be your Platoon Leader. You will like her much better than me; I’m MEAN, UGLY & INSULTING !!!
JavaJoe.
