Hoofer is only "semi-retired!"

Howdy Midway Family!

As some of you may remember, I have retired from RFTW Leadership this year. It is time for others to step forward, and for me to relax a little bit. In my 12 years with RFTW, I have only been a “Rider” once, and have been volunteering ever since. I made a promise to you, my Midway Family, and to the new Leadership Team that I would do my best to help transition to your new Route Photographer and SITREP Author. To keep that promise, I will be riding with the Midway Route for several days in 2025.

I will spend a couple of days helping your new Route Photographer, David Mitchell, get aquainted with you, and helping him figure out where to be, how to get there, and to introduce him to you and our many supporters. I hope that you will all treat him to the love, respect, friendship, and brotherhood that you have gifted to me.

But wait, there’s more!

I have agreed to be your interim SITREP Author for as long as I am with you. And once I have left, I will have several “elves” that will feed me daily reports and stories of what you have been doing each day. Maybe we can even get one or two of these “elves” to post the stories themselves! Regardless, I am going to make sure that the Midway Route is well represented, and that this years stories, the 50th Anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, are told.

I am, once again, honored and humbled to be YOUR (interim) Voice. I will do my best to hold your faith and trust, and to live each moment that we are together with love, sincerity, and faithful duty.

Cheers!
