"Hoofer's Hooligans" annual "Run To The Run": Dallas TX to Ontario CA

Howdy Folks!

Once again, I will be leading the “Hoofer’s Hooligans” Run to the Run. While the ride west will be familiar to those veteran Hooligans, there WILL be a few fun, new stops this year. Our START location will be different, too. BE SURE TO CHECK THE ITINERARY FOR THE EXACT LOCATION! We will leave FRISCO, TEXAS on Thursday, May 08 and arrive in Ontario California on Sunday, May 11, 2025.

As usual, we will use this opportunity to re-familiarize ourselves with the safe practices of formation riding, doing so in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Along the way, we may just have some fun, too! In fact, I have set up a few museum and memorial site visitations, to help us get into the “right frame of mind” for our RFTW Mission.

Don’t worry, I have not forgotten about our “scenic bypass” and, of course, some great FOOD! We will also be making our annual stop at the American Legion Post #138 (Damn Straight!) in Mesa Arizona. This will be the FIRST time we visit this post in their NEW LOCATION. I hope you will all join me for the “Seven O’clock Toast”!

For those of you not familiar with “Hoofer’s Hooligans”, it is the third iteration of the longest-running “Run to the Run” for RFTW. It began as the DDD (Dutch’s Demented Desperados) about 25 years ago, morphed into the CDR (Cowboys Desert Renegades) for 10 years, and then became “Hoofer’s Hooligans” in 2016. This is the 10th running of Hoofer’s Hooligans! Our goal has always been to help get Riders safely across our country so that we can join up with RFTW. Along the way, we get to refresh our group and formation riding skills, begin enjoying the comradery of our RFTW Brothers and Sisters, and mentally prepare ourselves for the upcoming Mission. “Hoofer’s Hooligans” is not an officially sanctioned part of RFTW. We are simply a group of like-minded Riders, heading towards a common destination.

I hope that you will consider joining us this year. It looks like it will be a safe, fun, and laid-back ride out to California. You will find the itinerary (subject to change) at: http://hikewithjim.com/hooligans/Hoofers_Hooligans_2025_Itinerary_v3-30-25.pdf

Cheers!

In the event of “less than stellar” weather, I have an optional route for Day 2 that skips the mountains.

Let’s hope the weather is good, because those roads are great!
