It’s been a busy off-season for RFTW in the DC area as we work through the logistics of transitioning into the Springfield area for DC area host hotels.

Our move to Springfield has been greatly helped by the hospitality of the RFTW friendly folks at American Legion Post 176, and their ALR Chapter. They have bent over backwards to help out the RFTW.

I - and others - have spent alot of time thinking about how to make the riders comfortable with the Springfield area. It has a lot to offer in terms of restaurants, hotels, etc. Some had suggested that we have a couple of our monthly meet-n-greets in the Springfield area so there will be more people familiar with the area come May. It’s an excellent idea!

Post 176 has a cafe, and they serve lunch, so let’s start there.

So, the December meet-n-greet will be Saturday, December 7th, at 12:00 pm, at the Cafe and Social Quarters at American Legion post 176. (post176.org)

I hope you have been having a great holiday season.

Hard to believe we are already nearing in on 2025.

At the turn of the year, I like to get my chili on…and in the DC area, Hard Times is hard to beat. So, this month, we are going to go back to Springfield for lunch (next weekend), but this time we have space reserved at Hard Times Cafe in Springfield.

Hard Times is located in Springfield Plaza at 6362 Springfield Blvd, Springfield, VA.

We have tables reserved at noon, January 4th.
