Mid Atlantic Get Togethers - November 2025

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 1, Meet and Greet at Mountaineer Meat Smokers - 45 Monroe St, Martinsburg, WV

We are starting off November by getting back on our first Saturday meet and greet lunches. On November 1st, we will be getting together at Mountaineer Meat Smokers up in Martinsburg, WV at 11:30 am.

You may remember our trip up there last year. The owner is a big supporter of the veteran community, and the food is excellent!!

From the Northern VA area, I will be leading a ride up there out of American Legion Post 72 in Warrenton at 9:30 am on Saturday morning if you are interested. I will be avoiding the slab getting up there.

KSU at the Warrenton VA American Legion Post 72 (345 Legion Drive, Warrenton, VA) at 9:30 am, November 1.

You do not need to ride with us to meet up at Mountaineer Meat Smokers.

SATURDAY, November 22, - Warrior Retreat at Bull Run, 16013 Waterfall Road, Haymarket, VA

We carried a Paver Brick with us on the Central Route that was from the Willing Warrior Retreat ( willingwarriors.org ). We raffled of the opportunity to carry the brick for the day as we traveled from Ontario to DC, and donated the proceeds to WIlling Warriors at our Day 10 lunch stop. 9 different riders carried the brick. So, now it is time to plant the brick in the ground. The Run For The Wall brick will be laid in the ground in the Survivor Garden at the retreat center at 11 am on November 22. The survivor garden is a group of pavers that surrounds a tree that has been struck by lightening twice and still survives.

If you have never been there, the retreat center offers cost-free retreat stays to injured service members and their families. Its a beautiful place, providing a great service, and it relies on volunteers from the local community to maintain the grounds. Every month or two, they put out a call for volunteers who come to the center on a Saturday morning and spend a few hours doing grounds maintenance (mulching, clearing tree debris, weeding, you name it). Saturday, November 22nd is one of those days. You do not need to come to the Beautification day to participate in the brick laying, but I have reserved a group of slots for those who *may* want to volunteer for Grounds keeping that morning. We will meet at the retreat center. If you want to come as a volunteer for the Beautification day, let me know and I will put you on the list. Check in at the center for Beautification day is at 8:45 am. The Brick laying will take place at 11 am. For those who ride their motorcycles to the event, I will lead us out to lunch after.

Please let me know if you want to participate in the Beautification day so I can get you on the list.
