Southern Route Missing Man Formation Sign Up

ATTENTION all 2026 Run For The Wall Southern Route FNG riders! My name is Mike “Bonehead” Kyzer, and I am honored to coordinate the 2026 RFTW XXXVI Southern Route Missing Man Formation. We invite you to join us as a participant for a leg of the run this year in the Missing Man Formation, which rides at the front of our cross-country procession to help us fulfill our mission to “Ride For Those Who Can’t.”

Riding in honor of a fallen friend, family member, comrade in arms, or someone special from your community, this honor is reserved primarily for FNGs (first year RFTW participants), Gold Star family members (immediate family of those who lost their lives in the line of duty), and Active-Duty Military personnel who are riding with us.

Let’s ride together to celebrate their memory. Your presence makes a difference—so ride with us and help keep their legacy alive!

If you would like to participate, please email mike.kyzer@rftw.us with the following information

  1. Rider Name (your name, include your road name if you have one, and any military affiliation you may have, if you would like to include that information.

  2. In Memoriam name, rank and branch (who are we riding for). If you don’t have a specific person in mind, you can still participate. One way is to visit https://thefallen.militarytimes.com/ and in the search boxes enter a town and state. A quick search of my hometown came up with a list of 15 heroes deserving of being honored in our Missing Man Formation. Or you can let us help you find someone special to ride for.

  3. If you have a specific city or state where you would like to ride, please include that. We will try to accommodate as many special requests as possible but cannot promise specific days/legs as the schedule fills up. A complete list of the Southern Route stops can be found at 2026 RFTW Southern Route Map. If you are open to riding ANY LEG, please let us know. That allows us to have the most flexibility when trying to work with the schedules of those who might have only specific dates they can ride with us. Likewise, if you will only be on the run for a portion of the ride, please let us know that so we can get you into the schedule on those days if possible.

  4. Type of bike (2-wheel motorcycle, trike, spyder, and do you pull a trailer?) If you are trailering, you must ride the first hitch of the day, and we will secure your trailer on a Chase truck until the next stop. Motorcycle trailers are not allowed in the Missing Man Formation. This is another great reason to get signed up early, as those first hitches will fill up quickly.

  5. As we mentioned, preference is given to FNGs, Gold Star Families, and current Active Duty.

    1. Are you an FNG?

    2. Are you an immediate member of a Gold Star family?

    3. Are you on US Military Active Duty?

  6. Is this your first time riding in an RFTW Missing Man Formation?

  7. Your contact information, including your email and mobile phone number that you will have with you on the Run so you can be contacted immediately prior to their ride day.

Please send me this information at the email address above ASAP, and we will begin to work out the details to get this certainly heart touching and healing arrangement made for you, our RFTW family.
